Overview
El Sawy Culture Wheel is an all-encompassing cultural venue situated on Gezira Island in Zamalek district, which was an unprivileged area inhabited by beggars. Established in 2003 by Mohamed El-Sawy, the centre has been hosting a wide variety of activities, cultural events, concerts, conferences, and festivals. It is home to art classes, seminars, exhibitions, workshops, poetry evenings, and considerable libraries. Aiming at reviving the Arab musical heritage, El Sawy has been holding numerous musical concerts, led by renowned Arab celebrities, such as Egyptian singer Ali El Haggar, Iraqi oud player Nasir Shamma, and more.
